EDUCATION : EMPOWERING THE FUTURE
At AFRINET, we believe that education is a human right. Our mission is to ensure that every child receives a strong foundation for learning, a favorable educational environment, and a healthy space to develop sustainable skills that benefit both the individual and the community at large.
The Education Crisis in Bakossi Landscape
Children in the Bakossi Landscape face an uncertain future. The prolonged Anglophone crisis in Cameroon, now lasting over eight years, has led to severe displacement. Over 6,000 people have been forced to flee their homes, with many seeking refuge in neighboring Nigeria. The most affected victims of this crisis are children, both boys and girls, who struggle to obtain even a First School Leaving Certificate.
The situation is worsened by the destruction of schools:
- Some schools have been looted.
- Others have been burnt down.
- Many have been abandoned due to deserted villages.
- The few functional schools cannot accommodate the rising number of pupils and lack basic amenities such as decent latrines.

Without access to education, these children face an uncertain future, raising concerns about what will become of the next generation.
How You Can Help
We invite organizations, donors, and individuals to join hands in supporting education in the Bakossi Landscape.
Together, we can build a brighter future for these children and empower an entire generation with knowledge and skills for sustainable development

AFRINET is looking for possibilities to have more classrooms and latrines constructed and also provide vocational training to youths. WASH kits are also essential for girls as they can’t afford to buy sanitary pads and other daily needs that can cause them easily fall prey to predators
